Thor: Ragnarok has sounded like one of the more … eccentric movies to come out of Marvel Studios in a while. I mean, it's directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do In The Shadows), with a cast that includes Jeff Goldblum, and the plot involves Thor teaming up with the Hulk after the two face-off in gladiatorial combat. It's bananas. And thanks to some freshly-revealed images from Entertainment Weekly, we can see just how bananas.
First off, Thor is rocking a new 'do, which I feel is going to strongly divide some of actor Chris Hemsworth's more rabid fans…
And then there's the film's main villain Hela (played by Cate Blanchett), who reminds me of the type of girls I crushed on in middle school. *sings to self* He was a skater boi, she said see you later boi… Oh who am I kidding, I'd still date Avril Lavigne if she'd have me.
Meanwhile, Jeff Goldblum looks like he should be starring in a kabuki adaptation of Aladdin as the omnipotent Grandmaster.
At least Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie seem to be having an okay time in what looks to be the Marvel equivalent of the Mos Eisley cantina.
Tom Hiddleston's Loki looks even more pleased as he sips down a colorful beverage surrounded by equally colorful people.
Bruce Banner and Thor greet each other as old friends, so not everything is dour and serious. Or maybe Mark Ruffalo is out of character for this shot and is just really excited to tell Hemsworth that he managed to get a Nintendo Switch. I dunno.

Valkyrie looks like she has something important to say, while Thor tries to remember where he parked.
And of course, a couple behind-the-scenes peeks at what production looks like when the cameras aren't rolling.
Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Cate Blanchett, Karl Urban, and Mark Ruffalo, Thor: Ragnarok will be released in UK cinemas on October 27, 2017 before opening in US theatres on November 3, 2017.
