The Battlefield 1 beta has finally gone live for the public, but the servers aren't having it. Many would-be players (including me) are getting error messages from the game that say the server has "failed to connect to EA Online" and thus can't play. The official Battlefield Twitter account is directing disappointed and/or unreasonably angry users to this Tweet from EA support:
EA is currently experiencing an outage. EA games, services & support may be impacted. We’re working to resolve as fast as possible.August 31, 2016
There isn't much to do about it until EA can get its server situation stabilized. But at least you know you're not the only one who can't get online. Until then, you might as well enjoy some of the goofy, glitchy Battlefield 1 moments that have already cropped up.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and was formerly a staff writer at GamesRadar.
