Star Wars Battlefront recommends a PC like this one

Building a PC to do your Star Wars Battlefront tour of duty in style will cost just about a grand. EA and DICE finally revealed the recommended specifications for the online battle game, and they're pretty lofty.

I hopped onto PC Part Picker to get a feel for what that kind of machine would cost. The $300-plus GeForce GTX 970 is the biggest money sink by far (the biggest heat sink is the CPU cooler), bringing my price to just over $1,000 before mail-in rebates. You could even test it out in theStar Wars Battlefront beta if you put a rush on the shipping; it starts tomorrow and ends October 12.

If you don't need to perfectly render every single snowflake on Hoth, the minimum specifications are a lot more forgiving (or you could just play on console):

Star Wars Battlefront Beta Minimum Specs:
CPU: Intel i3 6300T or equivalent
RAM: 8GB RAM
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB or Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB - DirectX 11.0
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
HDD: (Beta Only: 12GB of free hard drive space)

Star Wars Battlefront Beta Recommended Specs:
CPU: Intel i5 6600 or equivalent
RAM: 16GB RAM
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB or Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB - DirectX 11.1
OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or later
HDD: (Beta Only: 12GB of free hard drive space)

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
