Some truly ropey footage of Atari's Alone in the Dark 5 has stepped out of the shadows, offering a glimpse of what's in store for this grim, action-slanted survival horror. Did we say ropey? We meant it - the clip sees lead character Edward Carnby scrambling his way up the side of a crumbling skyscraper, clinging onto a length of rope that's serving as a lifeline.
Flaming masonry plummets past him as he ascends, and exploding cars from the street below soar up and nip at his heels. Even the walls he clings to peel away under his weight, in an outrageous action sequence that seems high on thrills but low on freedom.
We won't be seeing Alone in the Dark 5 until the end of the year, but you can take a preview-ish peep right now by clicking here.
