Riddick teaser trailer: watch now

Riddick has unleashed a teaser trailer, via Vin Diesel’s ever-busy Facebook page .

Diesel hasn’t been shy about pushing his film via his social media account, and his 40 million+ fans have lapped up the images and hints he’s been dropping along the way.

And, good to his word, Diesel revealed the first snippet of teaser footage to his followers, with an introductory “GRRRR…” for added machismo.

While the footage may only be 20 seconds long, it’s pretty jam-packed, with a gravelly voiceover from Diesel’s titular antihero, some intriguing looking beasties, and plenty of bang for your buck.

Given its brevity, the trailer doesn’t give away much in terms of plot info. Following overblown sequel The Chronicles Of Riddick , the mononymous threequel aims to take the series back to its Pitch Black roots by crash-landing Diesel’s badass on an arid, hostile planet, where he’s hunted by its indigenous inhabitants as well as a bunch of ruthless mercenaries.

Riddick is set to open in the US on 6 September 2013, with a US release date still to be announced.
