I don't know about you, but I've booked some time off this April to give myself a little rest and catch up on some gaming. There's enough from my backlog to catch up on this Easter, I'd much rather dive into something new while munching on my chocolate egg-shaped treats.
Newegg must've been listening in on my 'what am I going to play' woes, as it's brought back its Nintendo and PlayStation Store gift card deals today. This limited-time offer drops the $50 Nintendo gift card down to just $44 (Newegg) and the $100 PlayStation Store gift card down to just $88.50 (Newegg) when you use an exclusive coupon at checkout.
While you're only paying $46 for the Nintendo Switch gift card, you'll still get $50 worth of credit. You can use this whether you have a Switch or you've made the next-gen leap to the Switch 2, which is good news for anyone else who has their eyes on upcoming releases from Tomodatchi Life Living the Dream to Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
The same goes for the PlayStation Store gift card. Grabbing this Newegg deal will net you $100 worth of credit in total, but you only have to spend $88.50 here. Basically, you're getting an extra $11.50.
Talking of US accounts, you'll need those in order to take advantage of these Newegg gift card deals. If you've bought them, the process is super easy, and it just requires you to follow these steps on the Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 after you've been emailed your gift card code: navigate to the Nintendo eShop > select account> select 'redeem code'. On the PS5, the process is just as simple. You just have to navigate to the PlayStation Store, select the three dots in the top-right corner, and navigate down to 'redeem code.'
Those of you in the UK who don't feel comfortable with making a US Nintendo Switch or PlayStation Network account will have to make do with their current backlogs this month instead. However, you lucky US Nintendo and PlayStation players can take full advantage of these deals. Just as a heads-up, I'd be quick about it if I were you. These Newegg gift card savings seem to disappear in mere hours after they go live.
Newegg pumps out these Nintendo Switch and PlayStation Store gift card deals every month or so, but they don't stick around for long. They tend to appear and disappear toward the start of each month, so I always recommend grabbing these while they've made their grand re-appearance.

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
