Surprise! The Nintendo Switch 2 Choose Your Game bundle is already live, and Pokemon Pokopia should be your first choice
Nintendo's new console bundle is available now
Earlier this month, Nintendo announced a new Choose Your Game Bundle was coming to retailers in early June that packed in a digital copy of Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokemon Pokopia for just $499.99 - saving you up to $29.99 off the game of your choice.
The new Nintendo Switch bundle has arrived at Amazon way ahead of schedule, and if you're contemplating picking it up, I wholeheartedly recommend that you ensure Pokemon Pokopia is your game of choice. Normally, I'd recommend you pick the priciest game to save the most, which in this case would be Mario Kart World, as it's sitting at $79 at Amazon. But after spending almost 100+ hours with Pokopia, I wish I had the game digitally on my Switch 2 at all times, like you can with this bundle.
This new 'Choose Your Game Bundle' includes the Switch 2 handheld and the choice between three games. But Pokemon Pokopia is the only one of those three that is only available as a game-key card when it comes to a 'physical' copy, so even if you buy it later, there's still no truly physical version out there quite yet.

I'm a physical game girl, so I opted to grab the boxed version of Pokopia when it launched on March 5, 2026, and I regret it. I did get a lovely free Ditto plush as a pre-order gift, which I cherish, but as it's a game-key card release, it's not a true physical copy. Not to mention, every time I peruse my Switch game collection, I'm met with a big, ugly white banner at the bottom of the game's box art, constantly reminding me of this bad purchasing decision.
Yet, its ugly, disrupted box art is not the main reason why I'd recommend sticking with a digital copy. But the fact that it's one of the best Pokemon games I've played and one that everyone deserves to experience. Exploring the delapitated towns and rebuilding them from the ground up with your Pokemon pals is incredibly addictive, especially as you can go at your own pace. In fact, the game encourages you to take things slow, as building houses and fixing up the various Pokemon Center's takes real-world time. Just like Animal Crossing New Horizons, that slow-paced, almost therapeutic-like experience lends itself to always being on your handheld, which is exactly what you'd get by selecting it out of the three games on offer here.
Since launch, there's also been a series of Pokopia events where you can unlock materials and add exclusive Pokemon to your restored towns. With a digital copy at hand, you can boot up the game during every new event and ensure you don't miss out, without the annoyance of having to physically hunt down your physical copy of the game. I've missed out on nearly all the events so far, simply because I had another game in the game slot and didn't want to keep switching out carts. Had I known about these events ahead of time, or known just how much of my time Pokopia would take up, I'd have much rather grabbed it digitally instead.
If you're a Pokemon fan, Pokemon Pokopia should be your go-to choice with this new bundle. Just be sure to grab this deal before Switch 2 prices go up at the start of September later this year to get your money's worth.

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
