Bryan Singer has been a busy boy over the last few months, doing his level best to convince many of his old X-Men colleagues to suit up once more for forthcoming sequel X-Men: Days Of Future Past .
One such star to heed his call was Patrick Stewart, and the man who was Xavier long before James McAvoy was cast has been talking about his impending return.
"I think it is going to certainly be the X-Men of all X-Men pictures," said Stewart. "One doesn’t want to tempt fate, but perhaps also the blockbuster of 2014…"
"It’s been 6 or 7 years since X-Men 3 , where you will recall that Charles Xavier was vaporised by whats-her-name, Jean Grey. And you’re asking yourselves, ‘If you were vaporised, how can you be in the next X-Men movie?’"
"There will be an explanation, but it was a little puzzling for me because I thought my X-Men days were over. So, it’s something to look forward to."
It is indeed. Directed by Singer and co-starring Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Peter Dinklage, X-Men: Days Of Future Past will open in the UK on 18 July 2014.
