October's Prime Day deals for gamers LIVE: the top early savings across PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox, and PC
Big Deals start tomorrow but there's plenty to scour today
Amazon's October Prime Day may officially kick off tomorrow, but there are already plenty of PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC discounts flying about. Best Buy has already launched its competing TechTober sale and Walmart's discounts are coming in thick and fast as well. That means your first major savings opportunity of the season is upon us, now it's time to sift through the offers.
I've been tracking major sales like Amazon Prime Day for years now, so I've been scouring the web to not just find the biggest savings but the highest value discounts on the shelves. Combining years of hands-on experience with the latest and greatest PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PC gadgets with year-round price tracking and trend watching, I'm bringing you the Amazon Prime Day deals gamers actually need to know about this week.
That eye for value is necessary - not all Prime Day offers are created equally. We often see gadgets taking a percentage off their prices, but still sitting far from their lowest rates of the year. Some are even more expensive than they were just a few weeks ago. With so many price increases already plaguing console and PC setups this year, finding the bonafide savings is more important than ever.
You'll find all my top picks from the early Prime Day deals already cropping up just below, and live updates from this week's deal hunt further down the page.

That, combined with my previous role as Deals Editor at our sister site TechRadar, means I know which gadgets are worth your time and where to find the most valuable of discounts on them.

Today's best Prime Day gaming deals
Best Buy has returned one of the better Switch 2 controller deals I see year round. The GameSir Super Nova is a little tricksy when it comes to that wake functionality, but it's still a sturdy controller that feels far more premium in the hand compared to other $30 alternatives. This is the cheapest the trigger-stop gamepad goes for even when major sales hit.

A smaller discount on the Hyperkin Competitor controller here, and unfortunately it's not hitting that DualSense-esque white colorway. However, the officially licensed Xbox controller is at its lowest price yet with that rare $5 saving.

Amazon still has $10 off its Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time pre-orders. That's well worth jumping on if you're after the foil cover physical edition - these cases won't be replaced on the shelves. This is also the cheapest way to get your order for November 5th's release.

It's rare to see first party Nintendo Switch 2 games seeing these kinds of savings after release. Amazon often drops $10 off pre-orders, but finding any movement on those $59.99 MSRPs after launch is tricky. Amazon's not listing the saving specifically here, but Air Riders is $10 off ahead of Prime Day.

The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 proves you don't need to spend big to secure powerful audio on PS5, and this wired headset has dropped to $34.99 ahead of Prime Day. That's its best price of the year so far, and a record-low.

Resident Evil Requiem is seeing its first $20 discount since launch this Prime Day. The 2026 release has dipped its price only a couple of times since launch, but has only ever hit $50+ price tags in the past.

Tired of your Switch 2 running out of juice in your bag? This is one of our favorite cases for just that reason. The Belkin Charging Case comes with a 10,000mAh power bank that slots neatly into the base.

The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is a chonkster, but it's built for comfort over speed. It's down to $89.99 ahead of Prime Day deals proper - just a dollar off its record-low, an $88.99 rate we haven't seen since June last year.

The Thrustmaster T248 is still one of our favorite racing wheels and a $60 discount has taken the Xbox version down to $239.99 at Amazon this week. That's a record-low rate we've seen a bit of this year so far, but it's been jumping around the $300 mark for the last few months.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni has just nudged itself under its previous record-low price by an additional $20. This newer release has only ever been $379.99 in previous sales, but we're down at $359.99 for the first time ahead of Prime Day.

When does Amazon Prime Day start?
Amazon's 'Prime Big Deal Days' sale officially kicks off tomorrow, October 6. However, competing retailers like Best Buy and Walmart have already launched their own offers and Amazon is price matching some of them well ahead of time. We're expecting an influx of new offers at midnight, but things are already looking pretty promising.
When will Amazon Prime Day end?
This Fall event is a two-day affair, unlike the four-day marathons Amazon's been running over its last few Prime Day sales. That means official offers will close out at midnight leading into Thursday October 8, but this is just the start. Last year's October Prime Day revved the web's Black Friday engines, with discounts continuing to run on and off throughout the month and into November.
Should you wait for Black Friday?
This question always lingers whenever Amazon runs an October Prime Day. Black Friday is looming over us, threatening to drop prices even lower than they are this week. The last few years have revealed an interesting trend, though.
A lot of the discounts we saw in last year's Prime Big Deal Days were recycled all the way up to the big day in November, appearing back on the shelves just as they did the month previous. That's because this week of sales typically kicks off the entire sales season (because Black Friday has to last two months now apparently), with stores looking to extend that window as much as possible.
That means many of this week's discounts will likely continue through Black Friday. The difference is that November's event will likely introduce wider price cuts. More tech will be on offer, rather than discounts on today's gadgets running deeper.
Of course, that's just the trend we've spotted in the last few years - nobody's got a crystal ball here. The good news is those holding out for the absolute lowest price possible will likely have another shot over the next 8 weeks. Equally, if you spot a price you like now (and it's a record-low, or the best of the year) it's unlikely to see significantly higher discounts by the end of the year.

Our top gaming headset gets a record-low price
Prime Day hasn't even started yet, but multiplatform PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2 players will want to check out this early saving on the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni.
The follow up to the Pro Wireless, a headset that stood firm at the top of our best gaming headset recommendations for years, sports hi-res audio on PC while also keeping those hot-swappable batteries, that premium sound quality, and its EQ hub.
We're still talking big money here - $359.99 for a headset. I've never seen that $40 discount before, though, this one's usually $379.99 when on sale.

Who's already on board?
We're still one day out from Amazon's official Prime Day deals, but Best Buy is already trucking on with its own discounts. The competing TechTober sale has kicked off today, dropping prices on a number of PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC gadgets well ahead of Prime Day. Not only that, but it runs all the way through to next week as well.
