I've been roaming those digital aisles again, hunting down all this week's biggest gaming deals. What did I find lurking in a corner? Only the first major discount on Borderlands 4. What's that tucked away under the shelf? A tried-and-tested retro handheld at a record-low $39.99 sales price. It's safe to say things are starting to heat up ahead of official Black Friday gaming deals next month.
The retailer has plenty of our top recommended gadgets on the discount shelf this week, with deals hitting some of the best-value headsets on the market, as well as high-end gaming tablets that can't be beaten for performance. That's with everything from Lego to tiny portable gaming keyboards as well.

Should you wait for Black Friday?
Of course, Black Friday is just around the corner - a whole sales event dedicated to dropping some of the year's biggest releases to record-low prices. Whether or not you hold off on today's Amazon gaming deals depends on how quickly you want your gadgets and how much more you want to save. All of the discounts featured on this page are already at (or near) record-low prices. That means they've never been cheaper before.
Yes, Black Friday could well shave a little more off that price but in the case of the hottest items it's unlikely to pack a significant extra saving. Of course, that's all conjecture - we don't know what's going to happen in November. I've been covering Black Friday for six years, though, and I'm still confident making my own purchases in October.
Remember, there's also no guarantee the tech seeing discounts today will still be on sale when November rolls around. Just as often as I see additional savings, I see radio silence. Deals don't hit everything all at once.
Live updates
Join me this week as we hunt down all of Amazon's biggest current gaming deals together. I'm going to be cross-referencing all the gadgets we rate highest with Bezos's previous price history to make sure we're all picking up the best tech and its heaviest discounts in the lead up to 2025's Black Friday deals.
Will Borderlands 4 get cheaper?
I know the pain of finding a game in the bargain bin a week after paying full price. It happened to me as well, with none other than Borderlands 3.
Borderlands 4 has just taken its first major discount in Amazon's gaming deals this week - excellent for those who don't want to fork out the full $69.99 but still want to experience the title close to launch. Still, there's definitely room for this one to fall further in the future.
PS5 games don't hold their value for very long. Unless you're Spider-Man 2 or (for some reason) Indiana Jones, those MSRPs can fall fast in the months after release. I don't expect us to hit the same $9.99 record-lows of the previous release quite so soon, but there could be an extra $5 - $10 off this disc price when Black Friday PS5 deals hit proper.
That's still a month away, though - and that's lots of loot-hunting time lost.
That Anbernic isn't just cheap tat by the way
There are a lot of retro handhelds on Amazon that simply aren't worth your time. The Anbernic RG28XX isn't one of them. Phil's had their hands on this for just under a year now and, while it's best suited to PS1 and Dreamcast emulation, it's a slick piece of kit.
This is a tiny pocket-sized device, measuring in at just 2.83-inches across the screen. That means it's an easy daily carry and while its shoulder buttons are a little rattly that battery life is certainly going to see you through a road trip or two. At $39.99 it's also cheaper than ever.
The perfect addition to your desk or cozy gaming setup
As a big Animal Crossing fan, I can't go any further without giving a shoutout to the Isabelle's House Visit Lego kit. It's currently $29.99 at Amazon rather than the usual $40, and as our own Brand Director Sam Loveridge says in her Lego Isabelle's House Visit (77049) review, it "captures that game magic perfectly" with a host of hidden references and Easter eggs. Plus, it's delightful on display or for play. That means this is a great choice no matter whether you're a grown-up Animal Crossing fan or a younger gamer who adores the series. Either way, it's one of the best Lego sets.
Going on an adventure
Ladies and gentlemen, we've got one: a record low price. The latest version of Talisman (a long-running adventure game series) has dipped to $37.99 at Amazon instead of the usual $60. While it's not necessarily going to make its way onto our list of the best board games - as our Talisman 5th Edition review points out, it's since been superseded by better RPGs - but it's a fun sword-n-sorcery romp that serves as a good gateway to more complicated games. My colleague Benj grew up on earlier versions of this one, and it helped fuel his love of fantasy stories.
No, the Glorious Model O 2 Mini isn't in my top list - but it's an easy recommendation this week
Why is the Glorious Model O 2 Mini Wireless not in my top list of the best gaming mice? Simple. Its $99.99 MSRP couldn't quite keep up the competition against the Razer DeathAdder V3 Hyperspeed and Keychron M7 8K.
At $50, it easily takes the top spot for best value wireless right now. This is a compact mouse for sure, so it's going to suit those with smaller hands better. However, it packs a slightly upgraded sensor compared to Razer's value option with a longer battery life to boot.
The cut-out design keeps to a reasonably low weight of 57g, while still offering both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth functionality to boot.
In the hand, it's a real delight with super crisp main switches and a nimble feel to its compact shape. That makes twitch-reflex reactions a little faster and a little smoother, especially if you prefer a claw or fingertip grip.
Samsung's new VR headset might be here, but HTC is still discounting its Vive Pro 2
The day that the new Samsung Galaxy XR headset finally hits the market is the same day Amazon drops the HTC Vive Pro 2 back down to its lowest price yet. What's the difference between the two? About a grand.
Of course, HTC's model isn't going to keep up with the $1,799 premium headset from one of the world's biggest technology companies. If you're after a PC-focused gaming experience, though, it's far better value right now.
You're saving 33% on this $1,199.99 device, grabbing it for $799.99 at Amazon.
Hear me out on the Razer Joro
Need a keyboard for your new novel? How about coding your magnum opus? Don't for a second look at the Razer Joro.
Want a portable keyboard for your handheld that feels great, looks even better, and connects seamlessly? This might be the best deck you ever buy.
The Joro is more of an experiment than I'm used to seeing from Razer, but its soft scissor switch clickers and super slimline form factor make it a must-see for anyone who takes their setup on the road. This thing slides effortlessly into even the smallest backpacks and still provides a premium feeling set of keys when you're ready to get down to business.
It's not quite got the padding to stay comfortable over longer typing sessions, but it's a fundamental part of my daily carry bag that I haven't gone without since reviewing.
Razer Joro | $139.99 $129.99 at Amazon
The SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless is back in action, but I'd still opt for Glorious
Another gaming mouse is back at its lowest price yet on Amazon's shelves this week, but the SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless is bucking up against the Glorious Model O 2 Mini Wireless's price tag. At $42.99 it's a solid deal in isolation.
The actual feel of this mouse is far better on the surface (without those pesky cutouts to contend with) and this thing is built incredibly well. However, I generally only recommend it when it's on sale - and with the Model O 2 Mini Wireless sitting just $7 higher right now your money is better put to something with a lighter form factor, rechargeable battery, and newer sensor.
SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless | $59.99 $42.99 at Amazon
Glorious Model O 2 Mini Wireless | $99.99 $50.95 at Amazon
Build your own Hall effect keyboard for less
The Glorious GMMK 3 Pro HE is one of my favorite gaming keyboards, and this discount drops the barebones model down to its lowest price yet. You're paying just $157.57 for the PCB and chassis - though note that you'll need to fork out a little more for those magnetic switches than you would a set of mechanical clickers. Still, with 8,000Hz polling rates and a full aluminum case this is a sturdy price drop.
Glorious GMMK 3 Pro HE Barebones | $252.69 $157.57 at Amazon
This Razer headset isn't quite cheap enough to go in the top list, but it's worth a look
The Razer Kraken V4 Pro is a luxury buy reserved for those going all in on the brand's Sensa HD haptic technology. The high-end headset started life at a whopping $399.99 but is available for $289.99 today. It's been $8 cheaper twice in the past, back in July, but otherwise this is a solid saving. You'd need to know you're the right person for Razer's slick haptic system, though.
Razer Kraken V4 Pro | $399.99 $289.99 at Amazon
This controller has a screen, and an extra 10% off at checkout
The Manba One is almost at its lowest price yet at Amazon, with a straight price cut down from $69.99 to $62.99 and a further 10% off at checkout bringing those numbers to $56.69. I saw this PC controller hit $55.99 in Amazon's Big Deal Days event earlier this month, so we're less than a buck away from a record-low here.
This is a solid gamepad in itself, but it's those onboard controls that really set it apart. All your customization takes place on the pad itself, with the help of a full display. That certainly beats looking up random button configurations and downloading separate apps.
Manba One | $69.99 $56.69 at Amazon
My daily buds are at their lowest price yet
The SteelSeries Arctis Game Buds are back down to $127.99 this week, the lowest price I've seen them at in the past. That's all for a 36% discount saving you just over $70 in total. Not bad considering these are our top gaming earbuds and I just so happen to pop a pair into my own ears at least three times a day.
These are for gaming first and foremost, and they've got a library of 300+ dedicated game EQ presets to prove it, but they're also fantastic for everyday use. ANC, a solid battery life, and a comfortable form factor mean I'm slinging these on whenever I leave the house.
The only downside is a slightly too-sensitive wear sensor, which can re-connect or disconnect your audio a little too often. Other than that you're getting high-end SteelSeries audio in a super portable form factor.
SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds | $199.99 $127.99 at Amazon
Borderlands 4 is still on sale, and Best Buy is getting in on the action as well
Amazon still has Borderlands 4 down to $54.99, and now Best Buy is following suit. You'll find the PS5 version of the game, alongside its Xbox sibling, for this record-low price at both stores this week.
Razer's previous generation BlackShark is sailing down the price ranks
Yes, the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro may be here, but if you want to spend a hair over $100 less I'd redirect you to the BlackShark V2 Pro this week. The 50mm headset has dropped to $144.99 at Amazon today, $2 short of the record-low I've only ever seen once before - over Prime Day. This is still a fantastic headset, boasting one of the best microphones we've tested so far.
Razer BlackShark V2 Pro | $199.99 $144.99 at Amazon
Interrupting our regularly scheduled programming to say this inflatable T-Rex outfit is worth every penny
I bought this inflatable T-Rex number a few years ago ahead of a Halloween party, and she's still wheeled out for special occasions today. It went viral a while back now, but at $26.10 it's well worth a look for anyone after a last minute costume idea. It's a bit much to wear for a whole night, but in shorter stints it absolutely kills.
Rubies Jurassic Inflatable Costume (Adult) | $80.99 $26.10 at Amazon
The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro just dropped to its lowest price yet
In the market for a new gaming mouse? What about a slightly older one at its best price yet?
The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro was a behemoth in its day, topping many a recommendations list for its combination of speed and comfort. The newer Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro nudged it out the way earlier this year, but those holding out for a discount on the original have now been rewarded.
Amazon has the V3 available for $124.24 this week, a 22% discount on the $159.99 MSRP and a return to a record-low price. This is the first time I've seen it dip this far below $130 - impressive considering this was a $140 mouse even when on sale earlier in the year.
