Fans of musclebound sci-fi action will be pleased to hear the latest from Vin Diesel’s Facebook page, upon which he has debuted a new image from upcoming sequel, Riddick .
The new image shows off the new breed of Mercs (that’s “mercenaries” for anyone not down with the lingo), a more lethal and violent set of bounty hunters charged with bringing in the notorious Riddick.
The new film will see the shade-sporting anti-hero left for dead on a barren planet, a planet inhabited by some of the deadliest alien predators our man has ever encountered.
Forced to set off a distress beacon to attract some form of rescue, Riddick soon alerts the aforementioned Mercs to his presence, as well as another ship captained by a man with a more personal reason for wanting to track him down…
Riddick is expected to arrive in cinemas at some point in 2013, with a specific release date yet to be confirmed. Vin Diesel seems to be happy to promote the film all by himself, so we’ll keep one eye on his Facebook page for more news as it develops…
