Hotel Transylvania will hopefully be the project that lifts Adam Sandler out of the post-Razzie doldrums (he was nominated for a whopping eleven earlier this month), with a set of official images newly released from the animated comedy.
The film follows Sandler’s Dracula as he sets about organising a birthday party for his daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez) at the hotel he runs for ghosts, ghouls and monsters. However, when a human (Andy Samberg) turns up unexpectedly and falls for Mavis, all hell begins to break loose.
Worried at how his other guests will react, Dracula attempts to disguise the human as a monster, hence the picture of the venerable vamp stood next to a rather peaky looking boy.
Elsewhere there’s a look at the cast of creepy characters in all their glory, featuring Steve Buscemi and Molly Shannon as Wayne and Wanda Werewolf, Cee-Lo Green as Murray the Mummy, Kevin James as Frank and David Spade as Griffin the Invisible Man.
Directed by occasional Clone Wars helmer Genddy Tartakovsky, Hotel Transylvania looks like good fun to us, even if Sandler, James and Spade last teamed up for the godawful Grown Ups . Pencil this one in for a Halloween treat when the film opens on 12 October 2012.
