Machete Kills has unveiled its latest piece of stunt casting, with global pop diva Lady Gaga set to make her Hollywood debut in Robert Rodriguez's forthcoming sequel.
Rodriguez confirmed the news via Twitter, revealing: "I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills , she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!" So at least she's got the thumbs up from the director.
Lady Gaga will play a character known as La Chameleon, and has been given her own character poster to boot, in which she sports a basque / wolfskin combo while clutching a smoking gun. As ever with the Machete films, subtlety is not the order of the day…
Possessing no acting experience whatsoever, Lady Gaga's appointment surely takes the cake for Machete Kills ' zaniest casting. No small feat in a film that has also found room for cinematic lost souls, Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson.
