L.A. Noire Achievement Guide

The Third Degree

30 Points
Silver Trophy
Correctly branch every question in every interview in a single story case.

To nab this one, you will need to perform flawlessly during the interviews of suspects during a full case. The easiest one I found to complete was the case, “The Set Up” since you only ask 3 questions throughout the whole thing. When you question Candy Edwards, choose Lie for the question “Whereabouts of Hammond” and then choose the magazine coupon to prove she is lying. For the second question, “List of odds recovered” choose Lie again and use the bookmakers odds to prove her pants are on fire. For the final question, “Plans to leave town” and choose Doubt. These are the only questions that are in the entire case, so with those three answered correctly, when the case is over, you will receive the achievement/trophy.

The Up And Up

30 Points
Silver Trophy
Complete a story case with a five star rating.

To get a five star rating on a case, you will need to correctly respond to each suspect’s replies, find all the clues amongst the crime scenes as well as cause little damage while driving throughout the city.To not risk the damages, you can have your partner drive places without worry.Use intuition if needed when there is a question you are not sure about and be sure to continue searching for clues until you hear the background music stop.

Traffic Stop

15 Points
Bronze Trophy
Disable a suspect vehicle with help from your partner.

There are many chase sequences within the game that will offer you the chance to get this. Once you are in a car chase, make sure you have your partner in your car and try to pull up close to the fleeing vehicle.Your partner will pop his head out and start shooting at the car.Once he has shot the tires out, the car will come to a halt and the reward is yours.

Wooden Overcoats

30 Points
Silver Trophy
Bring down a total of 30 bad guys with head shots.

Whenever you come to a case that involves having to take out enemies, be sure to head for their heads.Try to do it for the first 30 enemies and then from there on you can go crazy for the rest of the game. When enemies are taking cover behind objects, they almost always leave a part of their head exposed. Aim for it while they think they are hiding for a quick easy kill.
