With the Avengers universe expanding at a rate of knots, and new characters being signed up to Chris Evans’ new iteration of Earth’s mightiest heroes surely its only a matter of time before the Guardians Of The Galaxy crew are involved in a crossover adventure? Well, if Jeremy Renner is to be believed, it might not be happening any time soon…
Appearing on stage at Wizard World Comic Con Chicago 2015, Renner responded to an audience question about a potential crossover by making the point, “there’s already a lot of people in the Avengers movies… and you want more? A damn tree… and a raccoon?”
“I loved what they did with Guardians, actually,” he continues. “I thought it was one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a long time… but we still have Avengers 3 and 4 to do. You’re going to be like, 80, by then, and I certainly won’t be Hawkeye... I’m gonna be a dead guy.”
Joking aside, it would be a hell of a lot of characters to jam into the one movie, so while cameo appearances may yet be on the cards, it seems as though a full crossover may just be a pipe dream. In the meantime we’ve got Guardians 2 to look forward to in 2017, before the Infinity War saga kicks off the following year.
