Newegg just discounted its $100 PS Store gift card, and these are the co-op games I'd buy this Valentine's Day

Each Valentine's Day and special occasion, I like to add a physical game gift credit to my fiancé's card as an extra nerdy surprise. It helps that my partner is just as obsessed with gaming as I am, so this always goes down well, no matter if it's credit towards purchases on Steam or games on our PS5.

It's not always the easiest to find physical gaming gift cards in stores, however. Sometimes I have to grab some credit online and handwrite the amount amongst my sappy love poems in each year's Valentine's Day card. However, this leaves me open to find deals, like today's $10 discount on Newegg PlayStation Store gift card worth $100, which has returned just in time for my Valentine's Day plans.

Save $10 - Newegg's gift card deal has returned this month, just days away from Valentine's Day. With this saving, PS5 players can get $10 off a PlayStation Store gift voucher worth $100 when using a unique promo code at checkout. If you grab this for your special someone they can not only use it for digital game purchases on the PS online store, but use it to buy DLC, add-ons or put it towards a PlayStation Plus subcription.

Valentine's Day-coded PS5 games to put that gift card to work

If you're planning on grabbing this PlayStation Store credit deal for your player 2 too, there are plenty of games that are ideal to put that $100 towards. For one, any of the Hazelight-developed co-op titles, from It Takes Two to the more recent Split Fiction, which is just $37.49 (PS Store) right now, is a great bet.

I haven't yet grabbed Split Fiction, but I've played through all the studio's previous titles as they're some of the few that allow for local co-op. Split Fiction has the bonus of always providing a "free game pass" which provides a copy of the game on an extra system of your choice, so your partner could play on the PS5 while you're on your gaming PC.

One of my absolute favorite games to play with my fiancé is Phasmaphobia. It's down to just $13.99 (PS Store) on the US PS Store right now. The horror game now supports cross-play, so I've played it numerous times on the PS5 while my fiancé was on his gaming PC, which resulted in hilarious results. He may bring up the fact that I left him to die by running out of a house and leaving him to the whims of the spooky entity inside, but the hilarity was well worth it. Make sure you're both horror game fans before spending any of your Newegg game credit on it, though. I don't want to be held responsible for any upcoming nightmares.

If you aren't in the mood for any spooky games this Valentine's Day weekend, I highly recommend the most recent Jackbox Party Pack 11. It's still full price at $29.99 (PS Store), but the trivia RPG game, Legends of Trivia, can be played with two people. It's a super fun way to test your knowledge with your special someone, all the while playing an RPG together that isn't as big a time sync as a co-op playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3.

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
