We may still be two weeks away from Black Friday officially, but the DualSense Edge has just dropped to its lowest price yet - by some way. The customizable gamepad launched two years ago but hasn't strayed too far from its $200 MSRP since, now it's $40 off at Amazon.

That means you're getting one of the best PS5 controllers for $159.99 at Amazon right now, down from its original $199.99. That's the kind of offer I would expect to be waiting on official Black Friday PS5 deals for.

Save $40 - The DualSense Edge has only ever dropped to $189.99 in previous sales, but we're $30 below that position today. This is a brand new record-low price on the pro gamepad, bringing it down to far more manageable numbers in the face of the competition.

Should you buy the DualSense Edge?

DualSense Edge vs Victrix Pro BFG header image

If you've been following Duncan as he traverses the world of customizable PS5 controllers, you may have spotted a few other gamepads recommended well before Sony's official model. At MSRP the DualSense Edge is expensive for what it is. It drops personalization features across some areas where they're offered elsewhere, and still sometimes comes out more expensive. The Victrix Pro BFG, for example, comes with a whole host of modular control options, more back buttons, and more frequent sales.

Where Sony maintains its crown, though, is in immersion and ease. While PDP's control app is now much better than it used to be, the DualSense Edge can be configured right from your PS5 console. Not only that, but you keep all the haptic and rumble features that make the OG DualSense controller so impressive. When it comes to immersive first party releases, that can make a serious difference.

It's between these two heavyweights for the top spot, then, and the Victrix normally takes the throne for its lower price and boosted back buttons. In our DualSense Edge vs Victrix Pro BFG throwdown, Duncan keeps its simple; grab the Edge if you're going for single-player immersion across a first party library and use the Victrix for high-speed competitive gameplay. If the former is more your bag, this is a must-see discount. Happily, if you find yourself in the latter camp, the Victrix Pro BFG is also seeing record-low prices this week, down to $119.99 at Amazon (was $199.99)

We're also rounding up all the best Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals and the best Black Friday Xbox deals we've spotted so far. For more accessories, though, check out the Black Friday gaming headset deals we're most excited about this year.
