The latest Switch 2 SD card from Samsung is the cheapest 512GB option, even without its new discount
This is your cheapest option for 512GB of Switch 2 storage today
Samsung launched a new line-up of microSD Express cards designed with the Switch 2 in mind, including a new 512GB capacity option. The Samsung P9 Express card has been available since November 4 as one of the best low-cost options for getting triple the storage for the Switch 2, and today, it just got even cheaper.
Thanks to a 5% coupon, you can grab the Samsung P9 Express for $94.99 at Amazon, the lowest price I've spotted for any 512GB Switch 2 SD card so far. Other brands' options start from at least $119.99, so even without this small $5 saving, this Switch 2 micro SD Express card is cheaper than the rest. With Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals incoming, you could hold out for a bigger discount, but this is still a worthwhile deal if you're desperate for some extra space for incoming games like Kirby Air Riders to Metroid Prime 4 Beyond.
Samsung P9 Express 512GB microSD Express Card | $199.99 $94.99 at Amazon
Save $5 - After selecting the 5% off coupon, the new Samsung P9 Express microSD Express card will drop down to $94.99 in your Amazon basket, its lowest ever price since launch. Today, that saving might only be $5 off, but it makes this Samsung card the cheapest on the market if you're after 512GB worth of storage for your Switch 2 - which counts it as a great early Black Friday bargain in my book.

Do you need a microSD Express card for your Switch 2?
One of my biggest annoyances with the new Switch 2 is its subpar onboard storage. The new handheld is only equipped with 256GB, which I find I fill pretty fast amongst the past digital game downloads, screenshots, and video clips.
It's why I'm glad I've had a microSD Express card for almost as long as I've had my Switch 2, as not only is it the only compatible storage option available for the handheld, but it's meant I can spend more time gaming and less time worrying about limited space. But unlike me, not everyone will have the need to have a Switch 2 SD card.
The Switch 2 game library is pretty small so far, and many of them aren't very storage-demanding. For example, Donkey Kong Bananza only required 8.5GB worth of space at launch, which is practically nothing. It does appear as though games are starting to get a bit larger, as the upcoming Kirby Air Riders, which launches on November 20, requires 25GB of space. If you want to futureproof your device for games like it, then picking up any-sized microSD Express card is a good plan - including this 512GB option from Samsung.
If you're trying to keep your Switch 2 accessories spending as low as possible, Nintendo announced that the official Samsung microSD Express card will be $20 off on November 30, as it's included in its upcoming official Black Friday offers. Sure, it only comes with 256GB extra space, but if you aren't fussed about losing out on that extra 256GB as found on the Samsung P9 Express, it's a much cheaper option.

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
