Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising - day three

The implications for a more enjoyable solo experience are plentiful. You can tweak each minion's behavior to customize when they attack, heal, whether they are passive or aggressive, and how they line up when out of battle.

We had some hands on with a medium sized squad of three as a Nomad during a demo of the current closed beta. As a hybrid hero made up of heals and damaging attacks, we found we could stand back and let our minions do all the dirty work while we kept them healthy with regeneration spells from a distance. But at the same time, we found that charging in full force and unloading all our deadly feats worked well too because our healing minion kept our health bars topped off whenever our HP dipped below 75%.

It felt like playing in a party of four - only, without any heavy breathing to listen to on our headset or disputes over rolls on loot drops.

Head here tomorrow for a whirlwind tour of the game's most notable landmarks as our exclusive coverage of Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising continues.
