Assessors and the Close Scrutiny map modifier in Arc Raiders are a part of the Flashpoint update, providing platforms of loot guarded by all kinds of robots, including the deadly Vaporisers. Finding one isn't necessarily easy if you don't know where to look, especially as they're not always present when the game starts, and like many sources of high loot in Arc Raiders it's first come, first served. If you want to understand how to find Assessors and get the new loot from the Close Scrutiny update, here's what you need to do.
And if you need help with quests then there's a walkthrough for Arc Raiders Outstanding Balance, a particularly nasty mission to complete it you don't know what you're doing.
What is the Close Scrutiny map modifier?
The Close Scrutiny map modifier in Arc Raiders has the following effects:
- Assessors land on the map.
- Increased numbers of Surveyors and Vaporisers.
- No active locked doors.
- Overall loot value is decreased.
- Increased amount of Arc loot.
What that means in general terms is that this is a good map modifier for those who are looking for Arc components, and a bad one for those who want… well, anything else. Of course, if you want to get to the Assessors, we'll explain how to do that now.
How to find Assessors in Arc Raiders
Assessors in Arc Raiders are not usually present when the game begins, and land throughout the course of the match. You might spot them landing, but otherwise what you need to look for are beams of red light firing up into the sky, as shown above.
That marks the location of Assessors, and all you need to do is follow those light beams to the source. The Assessor itself is a three-pronged dark grey structure on a tripod of legs.
Assessor loot and rewards
Assessors have three panels on them that you can break open if you walk up the legs on their sides. However, opening them triggers a noise alarm that alerts nearby Arc robots and can summon more. I recommend approaching stealthily, opening it, then using a Photoelectric Cloak to sneak away again if you don't want to risk death by laser beam.
Still, if you breach an Assessor, you can expect to get any of the following:
