How to unlock Scatty's Chest

Scatty's Chest in Gothic 1 Remake is a small sub objective that comes up when you're working for Fingers in the Old Camp, as he asks you to steal a Ring from Scatty for him. It's worth doing if you want to join the Old Camp properly, as Diego asks you to ingratiate yourself with the various characters around the area and build your reputation, one of which is Fingers. Not only this, but he'll teach you how to lockpick if you can... Er, lockpick Scatty's Chest for him. Look, I didn't design this quest, but if you want to know how to get in, I'll explain how to unlock Scatty's Chest and get the ring inside for Fingers.

Scatty's Chest in the Gothic 1 Remake is found feet away from where Fingers is standing, you really don't have to go far. Head down the slop he's standing on, turn right, and that building next to you is Scatty's hut. I've put a picture of its exterior above so you know what you're looking for.

I recommend heading in during the day, as Scatty is usually at the arena during that time and it's easier than sneaking in while he's asleep. How to unlock Scatty's Chest in Gothic 1 Remake

The chest is in the corner of Scatty's hut, and there is no key to open it anywhere: you need to open it with the Gothic 1 Remake lockpicking minigame system. Our attached guide will explain that process in great detail if you're not familiar with it, but here's the exact process of how to open it and complete the minigame (assuming you have no Lockpicking training). Remember to save before you start!

Move tumbler 3 left, five times.
Move tumbler 5 left, five times.
Move tumbler 4 left, four times.
Move tumbler 5 left, four times.
Move tumbler 2 right, four times.
Move tumbler 5 left, four times.
Move tumbler 1 right, two times.
Move tumbler 3 left, two times.
Move tumbler 4 left, one times.

Do this correctly and the lock should pop open, giving you access to Scatty's Chest, including the contents. They are:

Scatty's Ring
Pan (Junk)
Cheese (x4)
Bread (x2)
Razor (Junk)
Pickaxe (Weapon)
Ore Nuggets (x16)
