Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Lune actor would be "delighted" to reprise her role if possible, but she's not in the "conversations" about expanding the franchise
Kirsty Rider's happy to come back, if the opportunity arises
It feels like we're all collectively looking at Sandfall Interactive to see what the studio's next move will be after the runaway success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Will there be a sequel? A spin-off? Or something else entirely. The voice actor behind Lune keeps being asked about returning, and although she's well up for it, it's not her decision to make.
"People often talk to me who haven't played it, and they're like, 'Oh yeah, because you can come back as Lune and do a sequel and things,'" Kirsty Rider, who plays Lune, told GamesRadar+ at the BAFTA Games Awards. "Obviously, naturally, I'd always hope to get to play Lune again, because I do love her. Don't know how that would work, but if there was a world where that could happen, I'd be delighted with that."
Without getting into spoilers, Lune's got a question mark over her due to the branching ending. If she were to pop up again, Sandfall would likely need to either make one of the endings canon, or explore other options across the overall timeline. It all depends on what the studio is planning to do, really.
Article continues belowAs far as what Rider knows, she suggests Sandfall's got some ideas related to the universe of Clair Obscur on the drawing board, but that's all she's aware of - for now, at least. "But I think, just thinking about it as a game, aside from whether they make it into a franchise - and I think they are expanding the world, I think they've spoken about things like that, right?" she states.
"I can say there's conversations about more which I'm not in. So I actually don't have anything to spoil," she finishes. I mean, 'studio behind incredibly well-received game is looking at making more' would be a given at this point. Whatever Sandfall's choice, the devs put together a stacked cast for Clair Obscur, and they'd be smart to find excuses for at least some of them to make appearances in any continuations.
