Where to get Thorium in Hytale
You'll need to head to the desert to find Thorium but it's one the harder ores to find in Hytale
Hytale Thorium is a green ore you can use to craft weapons, armor and tools that are a step up from Stone, Copper and Iron. It's probably the start of things getting more exotic when you need it, as you'll need to access a higher level zone to get it, if you haven't already. Armor made from this ore will give some good poison resistance, which is probably its main benefit apart from the general step up for crafting resources and levelling as you head into more dangerous areas. But, before you can make anything, you'll have to find it. So here's where to look.
Hytale Thorium locations
Before you can find any Thorium in Hytale you'll need to head to the sandy, desert area on the map. Known as the Howling Sands, this is the second Hytale zone after the Emerald Wilds, and the first/main place you'll find thorium (you might find some scattered around the snowy areas but it's not been that common in my experience).
As with all ores, you're going to have the most luck underground so dig down until you find some glowing green lumps, or a cavern you can then search for the same thing.
I might have been unlucky here but while I found plenty of Hytale Copper and iron in plentiful groups, I've mostly found Thorium in single clusters. That makes it a little slower to gather, but the same rules apply as for the previous ores - you'll mainly find it underground so dig down, or look out for mine structures that let you access caverns without digging.
Generally Thorium seems to one of the harder ores to gather a lot of quickly, as it only really appears in the sandy areas of the map and I found far more Hytale iron in the desert while looking. You can find a little in the snowy Whisperfrost Frontiers, the third zone, but it's even rarer. So it has a limited spawn area, and doesn't appear in large amounts, meaning you'll really have to go looking for it and can't rely on just sort ambiently collecting it as you explore.
Cobalt, the next in the crafting chain of ores, seems a little more plentiful at least, while I've found loads of Adamantite when I've hit a pocket of it. If you really are struggling to find enough then you could always try some Hytale console commands to spawn some.
