Will GTA 6 be at Summer Game Fest 2026? I wouldn't be surprised
SGF 2026 predictions | In the run-up to Grand Theft Auto 6's November launch, it's time for Rockstar to go big
With Summer Game Fest 2026 set to kick off in just a few days, the question on everyone's lips is whether Grand Theft Auto 6 will make an appearance. It's been a year since GTA 6's second trailer dropped, and since then we've seen nothing of the game – which would have been out already, had it not been delayed to November 19. Not that I'm bitter.
Predicting Rockstar's next move has proven impossible over the years, with attempts resulting in moon cults and hopium-huffing. But with months left until launch, the developer will soon look to ramp up the sales pitch in full – meaning it will have to show what it's selling. With this year's Summer Game Fest 2026 schedule packing presentations from Xbox and PlayStation alongside the main showcase, could Rockstar enter the home stretch this week?

GTA 6 wishlist – everything we want from the next instalment of Grand Theft Auto
While Zelnick suggests we won't have long to wait for more GTA 6 news regardless, whether it will arrive at SGF 2026 remains to be seen (or denied). I'm of the opinion that Rockstar should take the initiative and go big, but the developer's crunch crackdown could motivate it to continue playing coy. Keeping milestones internal means there's less pressure to hit them, and if the release date does need to move back to avoid crunch, it should. There are also arguments to be made in keeping GTA 6's exposure to a minimum and letting the game speak for itself at launch – the greatest mark of confidence, yes, but not one I imagine Rockstar's marketing teams would be as happy with.
Frankly, trying to predict what Rockstar will do – or pinning your hopes to a certain course of action – only guarantees disappointment. However this week pans out, Zelnick seems pretty confident we'll be playing GTA 6 for ourselves come November 19 - so what's a quiet SGF amongst friends?
Was Fable really delayed because of GTA 6, or is the RPG just not finished yet?
