GTA 6 price listed as $115 via one retailer as pre-order rumors circulate, and fans are praying it's just a "placeholder"
"Guys, don't buy that s*** for 100 euros"
The GTA 6 community is going wild between a supposed pre-order leak on Best Buy and the ever-growing rumors surrounding a Trailer 3 release – and now, they've got a potential $99 price tag to grapple with, too.
In case you've not heard the rumors – because, well, they've been circulating for quite some time now – Grand Theft Auto 6 could cost $99 or so. Heavy on the could there, though, as no one from Rockstar Games or Take-Two has confirmed such a price… Folks have just spoken about it.
There's a sliver of evidence that the number might be legitimate, however, as fans have noticed Dutch retailer Gameshop Twente's new listing for GTA 6.
The listing gives GTA 6 an eye-watering price of €99 (about $115), which certainly feeds into all of those talks of a $100 cost. Is it real or is it a placeholder? Nobody knows, but people are hoping it's the latter.
Over on ResetEra, folks speculate that it's "most certainly a placeholder" as the EAN – European Article Number – apparently isn't accurate. Others find it funny that the supposed placeholder doesn't match up with the usual AAA game price.
Similar discussions are unfolding on Reddit, with the top comment reading, "I'll be shocked if the standard edition of the game is 100 euros." Another user warns, "Guys, don't buy that shit for 100 euros. Every game will follow if you do."
Honestly, though, I'm not personally convinced that GTA 6 will be $99 or higher. It'd be quite a move from Rockstar after what has been a whopping 13-year wait, if you ask me.
The price doesn't exactly line up with what some in the industry have previously said, it's important to note. Former Rockstar technical director Obbe Vermeijj stated GTA 6 likely won't cost $100, so there's still some hope out there of a lower number, if you ask me.
It's also not like the studio itself revealed any sort of price, either – we technically have no idea what it'll cost at the moment. Not until Rockstar itself speaks out, anyway.
Here's hoping GTA 6 costs less than an entire used console when it does finally release on November 19 this year. We don't have too long to wait now until we find out, anyway, as we're already nearly halfway through 2026.
