When does the Modern Warfare 4 beta start and how to access it
The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta weekend starts on August 28
The Modern Warfare 4 open beta is here with weekend 2 kicking off and letting all players get in on the FPS action. Of course, you need to make sure you've got your Activision account set up and appropriately linked if you want to play Modern Warfare 4 ahead of its October release date.
And if you're playing on PC, you need to meet the minimum specs and have TMP 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled - this blog post has the full details! When are the Modern Warfare 4 beta dates?
The Open Beta weekend starts on Friday, August 28, at 5PM UTC and ends on Tuesday, September 1, at 5PM UTC:
- US Pacific: 10AM, August 28 - 10AM, September 1
- US Eastern: 1PM, August 28 - 1PM, September 1
- UK: 6PM, August 28 - 6PM, September 1
- Central Europe: 7PM, August 28 - 7PM, September 1
- Eastern Australia: 3AM, August 29 - 3AM, September 2
- New Zealand: 5AM, August 29 - 5AM, September 2
You can also pre-load the open beta build right now so that you'll be ready to dive in as soon as it goes live.
All Modern Warfare 4 beta maps and modes
The full details of what's included in the Modern Warfare 4 have finally been announced, and it includes the usual selection of 6v6 multiplayer modes along with some new ones. You'll be able to play these on six maps.
Gunfight also returns on the new evolving Kill Block, and you can play Ground War's Combat Outpost mode on two large maps that accommodate infantry and vehicles. Like last week's early access weekend, you'll also be able to play the Entrenched mission from the campaign.

- Team Deathmatch, kill the enemy before they kill you
- Hijack, a new mode where teams fight over a Data Spike and must plant it in the enemy team's Comm Station to earn points
- Inflation, another new mode where killing enemy players awards you cash and the wealthiest players are marked as high-value targets
- Domination, capture and hold flags to build up points - first to 200 wins
- Hardpoint, Capture and hold the zone to earn points
- Kill Confirmed, collect dog tags from defeated enemies to score points and collect allied tags to deny the enemy team points
- Search and Destroy, all players get one life and teams alternate between attacking and defending, where attackers attempt to plant a bomb at one of two of the defenders' sites
- Gunfight (3v3, 10v10, Kill Block): All players get one life and the same random loadout and compete to wipe out the other team across multiple rounds
- Combat Outpost (24v24, Ground War): Domination-like large-scale objective mode that features vehicles as well as standard infantry

When will the Modern Warfare 4 beta end?
The Modern Warfare 4 beta is officially scheduled to end on Tuesday, September 1, when the Open Beta draws to a close. The previous Black Ops 7 beta did get extended by an extra day though, so this end point isn't set in stone yet depending on how the rest of the MW4 beta period goes.
