The Sinking City 2 gets a release date to bring Lovecraftian survival horror to the Roaring '20s
An August 18 launch was exclusively revealed at the Future Games Show, alongside confirmation that a Steam demo is out now
The Sinking City is back, with this sequel to the 2019 original moving players on to the fictional US city of Arkham, Massachusetts, and while the first game was more action-focused, this follow up is squarely in the survival horror genre. As exclusively revealed during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, The Sinking City 2 will launch on August 18, and a Steam demo just shadow dropped during the show.
Taking on the role of occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty, you are forced to enter the desolate 1920's US city that has been devastated by a mysterious supernatural flood, in an attempt to break your girlfriend free from the sleep she is trapped in following a dreaming ritual that went disastrously wrong. Finding answers won't be easy, as Arkham is now crawling with terrify threats.
Investigation is your key to survival here, as you work through a combination of exploration to examine clues and discover secrets, while engaging in frantic combat to fight off a host of bizarre and twisted creatures steeped in Cthulhu mythos. Resources are scarce in the derelict city, so you'll have to scavenge for useful items and manage your limited inventory carefully, while making every bullet count so you aren't left completely exposed to the horrors that lurk within.
The Sinking City 2 will release on August 18, 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, but if you want to take an early look then you can play the Steam demo now, or you can follow the game on X and Facebook to keep up to date with the latest developments.
