Moonlighter 2 1.0 release date announced as shopkeeping sim emerges from Early Access
And it's coming to PS5, Xbox Series X and Switch 2 as well
There's no denying that I love the original Moonlighter game, and I've been waiting patiently for Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault to exit Early Access with it's big 1.0 release, and now the time is here.
Moonlighter 2 1.0 is dropping on September 2, 2026, and on that date it'll also launch on PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X. Originally launching into Early Access in November 2025, it's previously only been available on PC via Steam and PC Game Pass, but now after eight months it's breaking confinement.

Release date: September 2, 2026
Live as a shopkeeper and merchant by day, but spend your nights exploring dungeons in this sequel to the original epic roguelite action RPG.
In Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, you play as a young chap called Will who, by day, runs a village shop, and then by night, goes dungeon crawling to find wares to sell in said shop. Just call him the adventure merchant.
Since launching into Early Access players have been treated to two major content drops alongside smaller patches, but version 1.0 will bring several brand new features and additions to the game. The most alluring of all is the conclusion to the main story, but you'll also get new armor, weapons, and a new combat ability known as the Bomb Path. This causes enemies to explode after they've taken a certain number of hits, inflicting damage on any nearby enemies.
Plus, there's the final level of Will's shop unlocked, adding extra Bloblet slots, and more options to make the village and your shop feel like your own.
But there's more. The Infinite Endless Vault is a new postgame challenge that offers an ever-scaling gauntlet of gold-filled runes. There's also a new Hardcore mode for the core game, which means if you ever die in the dungeons, you will have to start all over again.
You can get a good sense of the 1.0 release with the above launch trailer which just debuted at the Future Games Show.
And, ahead of September 2 and the 1.0 release, a Moonlighter 2 demo is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch 2, and PC.
