The Sinking City 2 is getting a Switch 2 version in 2027, as revealed during the Future Games Show
You can play the Lovecraftian survival horror now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, while it debuts on Nintendo's handheld next year
The Sinking City has made its long-awaited return, with this follow up to the 2019 original launching last week on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. However, as exclusively revealed during the Future Games Show at gamescom, The Sinking City 2 is also coming to Switch 2 in 2027, so Nintendo players will also be able to pay a visit to the fictional US city of Arkham, Massachusetts.
For those who are unfamiliar with the series, the first game was mainly focused on action and adventure but this sequel has moved firmly into the realm of survival horror, while still maintaining the same inspiration from the works of H. P. Lovecraft. As occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty, you must explore a 1920's US city left in ruins by a strange and supernatural flood, in search of a way to revive your girlfriend who has been trapped in sleep by a failed dreaming ritual.
Your investigations are not only hampered by the treacherous environment, but also the terrifying monsters that stalk the streets of Arkham. You'll need your wits about you to survive here, discovering secrets and examining clues to find answers while also fighting off a variety of Cthulhu-esque nightmare creatures through frenetic combat. Every bullet counts in the remains of the city where resources are scarce, so you must carefully manage your restricted inventory while scavenging for anything that will help you keep the horrors at bay.
The Sinking City 2 is out now for PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version scheduled for release at some point during 2027 – if you're waiting for that then you can follow the game on X and Facebook to stay up to date with the latest news on development.
