How to get the Auction Fee in 007 First Light and make 100k
James Bond needs to make money – 100k – in the black market for the Aleph auction fee in 007 First Light
The 007 First Light $100,000 Auction Fee is a mission objective in Aleph's Black Market, where James Bond has to make money quickly to get him and Greenway into the auction and meet Bawma. There are multiple ways to make a hundred thousand around the market, and while you don't need to do all of them, none of them are individually enough to make the cash, meaning you'll have to do at least a couple of these methods to raise the cash needed to complete the objective. Below I'll lay out how to do all these money making methods, as well as what each of them involved requires.
How to get $100,000 in 007 First Light for the Auction Fee
There are six ways to make money for the auction in Aleph's Black Market in 007 First Light, summarised below.
- Fight Pit. Be accepted into Aleph's arena and become champion.
- Payout: $60,000
- Scorpius Art Deal. Discover the details of an illegal art deal and replace the seller.
- Payout: $52,000
- Crypto Wallet. Steal and decode a crypto wallet.
- Payout: $50,000
- Jewel of Jahari. Solve a puzzle and retrieve a gemstone from a rigged game.
- Payout: $30,000
- Shooting range. Get the high score at Basim's shooting range.
- Payout: $30,000
- Pickpocketing. Steal money from distracted guards and citizens throughout Aleph.
- Payout: Approx. $3000 per target.
It's worth mentioning that once you reach the 100k target, you'll immediately be told to head to the action and that all untaken paths to making money will be locked off from that point. However, until that point you can approach the goal however you like, choosing whatever method most appeals to you. We'll go into the details of each one below.
Fight Pit
The fight pit is the unarmed combat route, where James Bond signs up for Aleph's arena and must win three bouts against opponents, including the champion known as the Hammer. Success pays out $60,000, the highest amount of any path in the black market. Just be aware that the middle bout is against twins (not the ones you met before).
Here's how to reach it:
- When coming down the stairs from the auction, follow the right-hand wall or go Southeast until you see a shark's skull hanging over an arch.
- Through the arch is the fighting pit. Eavesdrop on the conversation by the pit and then submit yourself as a contestant.
- You'll be tested by fighting Omar outside. If you can throw him over the railing, you'll get an optional challenge!
- After that you'll have to fight three rounds in the arena: the first against a normal guy, the second against two normal guys, and finally against a Brute enemy called the hammer.
- After winning you'll be given your reward, though you'll have to fight another trio of guys on the way out who are angry that they lost.
Scorpius Art Deal
This route is a mixture of stealth and combat, where Bond finds out that the mercenary group Scorpius is planning an illegal art deal, and decides to replace Scorpius in the transaction so he can reap the rewards. This pays $52,000, but is one of the longer routes.
- When coming down the stairs from the auction, follow the left-hand wall to eavesdrop on the three soldiers near the containers.
- Follow the guard marked to the off-limits area under the stairs. Hit the generator on the right to draw the guard away.
- Head inside and either sneak or fight your way through to the marked area to grab a burner phone at the end.
- Head back to the eavesdrop point in step 1, and either lure away the guards, or tell the shopkeeper on the left that you want Smoke Grenades. This will get him to turn his back and let you pass.
- Head to the container at the back of the area to find the art. Afterwards you'll have to fight off half a dozen armed Scorpius guards.
- Finally, the buyer will show up to collect the art and pay you along the way.
Crypto Wallet
In this stealth and combat approach, Bond needs to steal a crypto wallet and then bring it to an off-limits tower to decode it. This earns you $50,000, taking you halfway to the objective on its own.
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
- In the covered eating area in the middle of the market, eavesdrop on a guy on his phone to hear about the crypto deal. Hack his phone and follow him. He'll eventually go into an off-limits area, but you can distract the guard or just dart him before he even reaches that point.
- Now you need to locate the caller using the map in the bottom left. They're near a charging station – sabotage it to draw their attention so you can pickpocket the crypto wallet.
- Now you need to reach the Aleph Cell Tower to decode the wallet. Go to the marked gate in the laundromat and follow the objective markers through enemy terrain for a mix of stealth and combat, depending on how you approach it.
- At the end, you'll need to platform your way to the final tower. Plug in the Wallet to access the funds of 50k, then progress to the zipline to get back down.
Jewel of Jahari
This funny little puzzle route is one of the quickest ways to make money, though it'll only net you $30,000 and you'll need to pay at least $3,500 to try it. We go into more detail in our guide on the 007 First Light Jewel of Jahari puzzle, but here's a quick summary.
- On coming down the stairs from the auction, talk to the merchant Nirmala who's flagging you down on the left and ask her what she needs.
- Go to the location marked to see Aadan doing the cup game with the Jewel, and pay him $3,500 to have a go (if you don't have it yet, pickpocketing some guards is a quick way to get it).
- After he mixes up the cups and asks you to guess, use the Q-Lens to scan them and see through them which one has the jewel in.
- Pick that one to get the jewel and bring it back to Nirmala for the reward.
Shooting Range
Maybe the most straightforward method of making cash in Aleph, in this ranged combat test, Bond tests his abilities in a gun range to beat the high score. It'll net you $27,000 (you'll win $30k but have paid $3000 to enter).
- When walking past the arena, there'll be a range of weapons laid out on a car. Examine them and talk to the merchant to hear about the range.
- Follow the indicator and speak to Basim. Pay him $3000 to have a go.
- You need to hit all 10 targets before any of them drop back down. It doesn't matter where as long as you hit them – remember to use Focus for an edge.
- If you can hit all 10, Basim will pay you the promised money after a bit of grumbling.
Pickpocketing
One way to earn dribs and drabs of cash (around $3,000 per target) is to pickpocket people. You can use the Q-Lens to scan characters around the market, and if any of them have an orange square around their belt, they can be pickpocketed.
To pickpocket them, you simply need to distract them in some way. Options include (but are not limited to), Poison Darts, Laser Straps, or environmental distractions like sabotaged electronics. Once the question mark appears above their heads, simply walk up to them and hit the prompt to take the money clip off them.
