E3 2012: The show's 5 most explodingest explosions reviewed and rated

Resident Evil 6

It takes a pretty big explosion to last for a full 42 seconds. And it's not even replayed in a Terminator 2-style 'too-expensive-to-only-show-once' kind of a way. This is just one freakin' epic explosion. It starts with a plane crashing into a skyscraper...

Above: Kaboom! This initial conflagration subsides as the plane... falls down a hole

Above: Oh no! It's exploded again! Run, Leon - run for your life!

Above: That's right, put some vehicles between you and it. That'll work

Above: Apparently not - it's throwing cars at the screen like it's in Sonic Adventure 2's City Escape

Above: It's OK, it's dying down a bit

Above: AAAARGH NO IT ISN'T!

Above: Even the zombie's wondering why it's still going. Anyone fancy a pint?

Above: A pint of BLOOD, that is! Ha ha ha I'm such a zombie

Above: Leon gets to da chopper. The explosion is still exploding

Above: A year later, it's still going on. But at least that means the game's out. Hooray!

EXPLODE-O-METER

Stuff thrown around: Cars, zombies - you name it
Size of explosion:
A whole friggin' street
Duration:
Forever
Effect on surroundings: Devastating
If it was a song: Can't Stop This Thing We Started
Verdict: Resi loves its unlikely explosions - and knows how to do them right. Nay, best.

So thats' our top five explodingest explosions from E3. But what was your favourite? Let us know in the comments.
