DC's full June 2023 solicitations have landed, and the heat of summer means that 'Dawn of DC,' the publisher's ongoing initiative to freshen up its line of superhero comics with new titles and new concepts is heating up as well.

Earlier in March, DC announced a number of brand new titles launching as part of 'Dawn of DC.' First up, there's Steelworks, a new title featuring Superman's ally John Henry Irons, AKA Steel, and his niece and successor in the role Natasha Irons. The title is written by beloved Star Trek actor Michael Dorn, who also voiced Steel on the '90s Superman: The Animated Series, with art from Sami Basri.

Then, two long running classic DC titles will come to an end in June to relaunch later this year. Flash will end with June's oversized #800, which brings in several classic Flash writers including Geoff Johns, Joshua Williamson, Jeremy Adams, and Mark Waid. Flash will then relaunch in September with a new creative team of writer Si Spurrier and artist Mike Deodato Jr.

Likewise, Wonder Woman #800 will bring an end to the title's current volume with an oversized finale issue. The title will then relaunch in September alongside The Flash, with the creative team of writer Tom King and artist Daniel Sampere.

June also marks Pride Month, which DC is celebrating with a DC Pride 2023 one-shot which features a Multiversity story written by Grant Morrison. There's also a new encyclopedic look at the queer heroes of DC titled The Book of DC Pride, and a collection of several classic stories featuring queer characters.

Read on for a rundown of some of the biggest highlights in DC's June 2023 solicitations, followed by the full text of all the publisher has planned. And if you are interested, you can check out all of Marvel and DC's recent listings here on our solicitations tab.

It's that time again... DC's solicitations are here and offer us a glimpse into the future of DC's best characters. As ever there are loads of cool new comics coming out in June - and we have them all listed here, complete with every cover variant for your perusal.

I'm personally really looking forward to seeing what Michael Dorn (Mr Worf!) does with Steelworks - after all, he has form with the character, having voiced John Henry Irons in Superman: The Animated Series. I'm also still really digging Sandman spinoff Nightmare Country, which continues its Glass House arc this month. And if you never want to sleep again, take a look at that Santa cover for The Joker: Uncovered #1... There's loads of great stuff here, so make yourself a drink (it's a green tea for me, I'm being healthy), sit back and delve deep.

The penultimate issue of this hit miniseries features an unusual break in format, as we will see Edward Nashton constructing his master plan for taking down the corrupt officials and criminals of Gotham City in the pages of his journal. As his mind spirals deeper and deeper, so too does his writing become more unhinged. How can he continue to labor at his accounting job by day while also become more enraged by what he’s uncovered?

As shown in The Batman movie, Edward fills thousands of pages with his rantings. Here we get a glimpse into something that was never meant to be seen and a mind equally brilliant and unhinged. By the end, a turning point will be reached and Gotham’s greatest menace will come one step closer to being unleashed.

Actor Paul Dano (The Batman) and artist Stevan Subic continue the origin of the Riddler, leading up to his  appearance in Matt Reeves’s epic film.

Evidence shows there is a link between Arclight’s military history with the pirates who have taken control of a boat along the coast of Thailand and the island destination where the contents of the boat were headed. What secrets does this island contain, and is it another government experiment covered up as a “conspiracy”

only believed by heretics?
