Ben Affleck, it turns out, has learned a lot from his long and fruitful movie career – especially when it comes to being the butt of all jokes. Sad Affleck, complete with Simon and Garfunkel track, did the rounds last year, and it sounds like the Batman actor still has the hump about it.
Speaking to BBC’s Radio 1, Affleck was asked about what he had learned during his short stint at Batman.
So what lessons could he have learned? Always gargle before doing the Batman voice? Don’t insist on wearing such heavy suits? No, it turns out Affleck learned “not to do interviews with Henry Cavill where I don’t say anything so they can play Simon and Garfunkel tracks over it.”
And they say you can’t learn anything in Hollywood...
On the more serious side of things, Affleck said he “learned a tremendous amount” about just what technology can do for a big blockbuster nowadays, having not had blockbuster experience since 1997’s Armageddon. He also got to keep a replica Batsuit (taking pride of place in his home, as you do) and an actual Batarang, the lucky so-and-so.
Because I’m sure Ben Affleck will love it so much, here’s Sad Affleck one more time in all of its super-sad glory…

I'm the Senior Entertainment Writer here at GamesRadar+, focusing on news, features, and interviews with some of the biggest names in film and TV. On-site, you'll find me marveling at Marvel and providing analysis and room temperature takes on the newest films, Star Wars and, of course, anime. Outside of GR, I love getting lost in a good 100-hour JRPG, Warzone, and kicking back on the (virtual) field with Football Manager. My work has also been featured in OPM, FourFourTwo, and Game Revolution.
