Vin Diesel shows off his Groot walk: watch now

Vin Diesel is beginning preparations for his role as Groot, the anthropomorphic tree, in Guardians Of The Galaxy , by practising his tree walk on the set of Fast & Furious 7 .

The star posted a video entitled "Tree Form Down Time" on his Facebook page, giving us an idea of what he might look like as a mo-cap tree!

There's also a brief appearance from Djimon Hounsou, who will be co-starring with Diesel in both Guardians and Fast & Furious 7 , and Kurt Russell also gets a look in.

Even without the mo-cap CGI treatment, Diesel makes for a pretty convincing tree. Maybe James Gunn could save a few dollars and simply have him rustle some foliage while delivering his dialogue…

Directed by Gunn and co-starring Chris Pratt, Benicio Del Toro and Zoe Saldana, Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
