Transformers: The Last Knight brings back Tyrese Gibson

2014's Transformers: Age of Extinction jettisoned a lot of the cast from the original trilogy in favour of Mark Wahlberg et al, and one of those casualties was Tyrese Gibson. For Transformers: The Last Knight however, director Michael Bay is bringing back a few familiar faces; Josh Duhamel's Colonel Lennox was confirmed to return last month, and now Gibson himself has announced that his Sergeant Epps will also be back to help out the Autobots once again.

Although I don't think anyone would say that Gibson's character is essential to the Transformers franchise, he does bring a lot of fun energy to his projects that serves blockbusters like this well. With both Duhamel and Gibson back on board, is it too late to rule out a Shia LaBeouf cameo?

Directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Anthony Hopkins, and Peter Cullen, Transformers: The Last Knight will roll into cinemas on June 23, 2017.
