Cast and crew may now be officially confirmed but the Star Wars: The Force Awakens rumours continue to come thick and fast, with Making Star Wars claiming to have unveiled the identity of Domhnall Gleeson’s character.
Naturally, potential spoilers follow, so continue at your own peril...
According to the report, the site has confirmed with four different sources that Gleeson will be playing none other than the son of Luke Skywalker.
The new film will apparently see Skywalker Jr. acting as an Imperial Commander, who sets a team of Stormtroopers in pursuit of John Boyega’s Finn, and regularly supplies intel to the villain of the piece...
However, if that sounds as though he’s taking after his grandfather rather than Luke, apparently there might be more to the character than initally meets the eye...
None of which is officially confirmed, of course, but it makes for intriguing reading nonetheless. Directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in the UK and US on 18 December 2015.
