New images of Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City offer a first look at the STARS of the new movie in action, as well as the rest of the principal cast.

The first image (above) introduces Avan Jogia as Leon Kennedy and Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, two characters who were first introduced in Resident Evil 2.

Below, the image features Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker, Chad Rook as Richard Aiken – characters first seen in the original Resident Evil game. It appears they are entering the Spencer Mansion, the setting of that game. This reboot looks set to follow the games much closer than the other set of movies.

Finally, we see Marina Mazepa as Lisa Trevor – the cursed daughter of the architect of the Spencer Mansion. She was first introduced in the remake of Resident Evil 1, having not appeared in the original version of the game.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is directed by Johannes Roberts, who previously headed 47 Meters Down and The Strangers: Prey at Night. The new movie will tell an original story that broadly encompasses the events of the first two games – we can expect most of the film to unfold in the mysterious Spencer Mansion and, later, the Raccoon City police station. Roberts explained in an interview with IGN that it was just as important to get those locations right as it was for the characters

"We worked hand-in-hand with Capcom on this movie... to the point that we actually got blueprints from them on the designs of the Spencer Mansion and Raccoon police station in order to recreate them as perfectly as we could," Roberts said. "We even have the exact artwork up on the mansion walls. Capcom saw it for the first time the other day and was so happy and excited. And that – as a nerd – made me so happy and excited!"

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is set to hit theaters on November 24, after being delayed past September to keep clear of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. For more, check out the best upcoming movies heading to cinemas soon.
