New Tomb Raider game is not a Tomb Raider game

Crystal Dynamics has just announced Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, which will be released as a digital download later in the year. Apart from that, there are absolute zero details to give any clue as to what Lady Lara's latest will be all about.

What's interesting - beside the fact that it's going to be download only - is that Crystal Dynamics has decided to omit Tomb Raider from the game's name. Which makes Guardian of Light the first in the long-running franchise not to be called Tomb Raider. An indication that Crystal Dynamics is looking to move the series in a new, less tomb-orientated direction, or just recognition of the fact that - as a brand - Lara Croft is bigger than Tomb Raider?

We'll get a better idea of what's going on with Guardian of Light after it makes its 'behind closed doors' debut at next week's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

I don't have the energy to really hate anything properly. Most things I think are OK or inoffensively average. I do love quite a lot of stuff as well, though.
