Despite Midway being no more, that didn’t stop Mortal Kombat from making a huge return last year with the series reboot simply named Mortal Kombat. After selling 3 million copies and being the best reviewed game of the series in years, it looks like MK is back on top. As part of its well-earned victory lap, new publisher Warner Bros has announced the special package of the Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for the few that have yet to enjoy the bloody fighter.
Planned for a February 28 release in the US on the PS3 and 360, just what’s in the extra special version? Pretty much all the DLC, as you get access to characters like Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain, not to mention horror icon Freddy Krueger. Retro enthusiasts will also get the 15 “Klassic” character skins and three “Klassic” fatalities that were released since launch, as well as a download for the not horrible Mortal Kombat film from 1995 on either PSN or Live. Lastly, you’ll get the recent soundtrack of songs inspired by the reboot to finish off the package. No price has been revealed yet, but we do know it’ll hit the UK three days after the US on March 3.
GamesRadar AU Ed: Don't get your hopes up, antipodeans: due to Mortal Kombat's RC classification, there's no chance of this one hitting our shores.
