I'm GamesRadar's sports editor, and obsessed with NFL, WWE, MLB, AEW, and occasionally things that don't have a three-letter acronym – such as Chvrches, Bill Bryson, and Streets Of Rage 4. (All the Streets Of Rage games, actually.) Even after three decades I still have a soft spot for Euro Boss on the Amstrad CPC 464+.

UPDATE: The game has been officially announced. Complete with news of PlayStation-exclusive DLC – including a droid character pack! – and a stupendously cute trailer:

ORIGINAL STORY: So much for embargoes. Warner Bros was due to make a huge announcement later today regarding "two of the world's most popular entertainment brands". Trouble is the Xbox Games Store has jumped the gun – and accidentally (or was it?) revealed Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens.

Excitingly, the new adventure promises to bridge the gap between Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens, with a list of characters encompassing "Rey, Finn, Poe, BB-8, Kylo Ren, Han Solo and the rest of your favourite characters from the movie". Yes, Lego BB-8. Anyone not doing cartwheels right now is actually dead inside.

The leak also promises Multi-Builds and Blaster Battles in a Lego game for the first time. "With Multi-Builds, use available bricks to open up new paths, then break them apart and re-build them again to open up another." It continues: "During Blaster Battles, use your surroundings as cover to stand against the First Order."

No word on the ratio of freshly recorded dialogue versus that spliced directly from the movie, but let's hope lessons have been learned from Lego Marvel's Avengers, where the disparity in sound quality grates throughout.

Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens is released for PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and PC on 28 June. See more (much more!) by flicking through the copious number of screens above.
