First Batman: The Killing Joke trailer teases a violent showdown

Before Jared Leto debuts his brand new Joker in Suicide Squad later this year, Mark Hamill will voice the iconic charter once again in Batman: The Killing Joke. Warner Bros has released the first trailer for the animated movie, and you can watch it below...

Batman: The Killing Joke will be DC's first R-rated animated movie, this first trailer does a good job of illustrating why that had to be the case. The film is based on Alan Moore's controversial graphic novel of the same name, and Bruce Timm & co have clearly paid attention to its imagery and themes in bringing it to life.

Add Hamill's and Kevin Conroy's voices to the mix, and it's easy to see why this one is so highly anticipated.

Starring Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, Tara Strong, and Ray Wise, Batman: The Killing Joke will debut at this year's San Diego Comic-Con before being released to stores later this Summer.
