Deus Ex: Human Revolution DLC 'The Missing Link' arriving in October

Details surrounding Deus Ex: Human Revolution's first DLC upgrade have been uncovered following a week of internet sleuthing and cryptic developer tweets. Bypassing Square Enix's online puzzle altogether, one fan appears to have plucked a full synopsis for a new downloadable chapter entitled The Missing Link straight from the official Deus Ex website RSS feed, revealing a deleted scene from Adam Jensen's main story.

Warning: mild spoilers ahead.

According to the feed, the add-on adventure will take place during a mysterious 3-day detour from the main game which, though unconfirmed, is thought to occur during his boat trip from Shanghai to the Omega Ranch in Singapore. In it, Jensen will be forced to contend with new perils and conspiracies aboard the freighter after having his handy augmentations disabled by Belltower agents.

"We are very excited for Deus Ex: Human Revolution fans to be able to complete Adam’s journey in the game with The Missing Link DLC," said producer David Anfossi, explaining, "Gamers will be able to experience a vulnerable side of Adam like never before, which gives the overall game a whole new dimension. The Missing Link propels players into compelling gameplay, beginning with Adam being stripped of his use of augmentations, new, visually stunning environments and the continuation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s conspiracy rich story.”

The title of the Deus Ex RSS post reveals The Missing Link will be ready for download in October. Further info, including specific release dates and pricing, are said to be arriving with the real DLC announcement on September 8.
