Daisy Ridley talks Star Wars secrecy and working with Rian Johnson on Episode 8

Although the award for 'Best Film Marketing' in the past 12 months would probably (and deservedly) go to the team behind Deadpool, in its own way the Star Wars: The Force Awakens campaign was equally impressive. Despite the Internet's very best efforts the vast majority of the film's many surprises remained secret until release, and the trailers were exciting and extremely well put together.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - which is working under the title 'Space Bear' - is currently two weeks into production, and Daisy Ridley told Entertainment Tonight that Rian Johnson will be a "little bit cheekier" when it comes to sharing information about the highly anticipated film. Check out the video below...

Star Wars is one of the biggest film franchises of all time, and that name gives it a distinct advantage when it comes to marketing. While most studios have to work hard to get people excited about their films, a Star Wars logo - coupled with the infamous John Williams fanfare - is often enough to whet people's appetite. Still, it's good to know that we can expect some teases from Johnson and co as the cast and crew continue work on Episode VIII.

Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: Episode VIII opens in cinemas on December 15, 2017.
