Could the Hulk actually get proper lines in Thor: Ragnarok?

Last week, we reported that Hulk will be getting a new story arc that will begin in Thor: Ragnarok and end in Avengers: Infinity War - Part II. It seems that part of that narrative could involve the Hulk getting smarter and actually forming sentences. While at Sundance Film Festival, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi spoke to HitFix about Marvel's plans for the jade giant.

"At the moment, there’s a big conversation that’s happening about how far to push that. Whether or not the Hulk should be [verbal/conscious]. So I think a lot of those decisions are larger group decisions, rather than anything to do with just me or the writer. They have a lot of stuff that they have to consider. But I do think that’s the best way to track it. I think we all want that. I think we all want to see that development and the evolution of that character. I also think you can do it in a fun way."

Of course, Hulk's evolution is not the only storyline Ragnarok will concern itself with, and Waititi also confirmed that Tom Hiddleston's Loki will be "such a big part" of his new film. "And he's such a great part of it. My focus really is making sure that Thor is the best character, though". When last we saw Loki he was sitting pretty on Odin's throne, but with Hulk coming to Asgard the God of Mischief could be in for a rude awakening. Lest we forget...

Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander and Mark Ruffalo, Thor: Ragnarok will be released in UK cinemas on October 27, 2017 before opening in US theatres on November 3, 2017.
