Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond The Pines has released a cool new poster online, featuring the pared-back silhouette of Ryan Gosling’s ice-cool protagonist.
The new film sees Gosling play a motorcycle-riding daredevil who decides to use his skills in some very shady business when he finds out he has a young son to provide for.
Meanwhile, Bradley Cooper stars opposite him as the rookie cop whose path he crosses, a young man who also finds himself mixed up with some dodgy characters on his side of the thin blue line.
The new poster boasts the ominous tagline “if you ride like lightning, you’re gonna crash like thunder” accompanied by an image of Gosling’s sunglasses and crucifix tattoo. As if he wasn’t cool enough as it is…
Directed by Cianfrance and co-starring Eva Mendes, Rose Byrne, Ray Liotta and Ben Mendelsohn (who says the "ride like lightning..." line in the film), The Place Beyond The Pines opens in the UK on 12 April 2013.
