Borderlands 2 special editions revealed, includes epic $150 loot chest

With the release of Borderlands 2 fast approaching, 2K Games dropped us a line to show off their newly-announced special edition packages for Borderlands 2. Most people will opt for the vanilla box-disc-manual version of Borderlands 2, but fans of stuff are going to flip out on the $150 mega package.

In addition to the regular version of Borderlands (game only), fans will also have access to the Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collector's Edition which features: Borderlands 2, a Marcus Kincaid bobblehead (he's the weapons dealer in the first game), a Borderlands 2 hardcover art book, sticker set, a map of Pandora, digital comic download, and a voucher for a DLC pack.

That's just the middle class version. The high-society version of Borderlands 2 costs $149.99 and has been dubbed the Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition. This behemoth comes with all of the items listed above, plus a replica of Borderlands' in-game loot chests, steel game case, a "Creatures of Pandora" ID chart, postcard set, "field notes from Sir Hammerlock; a cloth map of Pandora, and a numbered certificate of authenticity (ooo, fancy!).

But they're not done yet! In addition to this mega-load of loot, there are also pre-order bonuses. Pre-ordering any version of Borderlands 2 includes access to Borderlands 2 Premiere Club which includes a DLC pack of weapons, a Golden Key (used to unlock special items), the Vault Hunter's relic, and an all-new character class called the Mechromancer.

Borderlands 2 is due on store shelves on September 18 on 360, PS3, and PC. It will probably be awesome.
