Adam Driver talks Star Wars 8's "really great" script and working with Rian Johnson

We were introduced to plenty of new characters in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and there is arguably no one who left a bigger impression than Kylo Ren. Adam Driver will be reprising the role for Episode 8 - which will see Rian Johnson step in for JJ Abrams behind the camera - and the actor recently spoke about the differences between the two directors.

"Their temperaments are different", Driver told Entertainment Weekly. "I feel like there was so many moving pieces in the first one – just trying to solve it and set the vocabulary for what it was. There’s a lot of that anxiety is gone, because people have developed a language. I think it’s more of a testament to Rian coming into something very established and making it [his own]. I can’t wait to get on set, just because he’s so unassuming and intelligent and approachable. The script they’ve come up with is really great." Check out the video below...

Kylo Ren killing Han Solo was easily the most shocking moment in The Force Awakens, and now that he's affirmed his allegiance to the dark side I'm really interested to see what they do with the villain in Episode 8 and beyond.

Johnson's credentials speak for themselves - I'm a big fan of Looper - and now that the world has been set up the filmmakers can take more risks with the story.

Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: Episode 8 opens on December 15, 2017.
