Gears of War Hints

Flank Them

On the level called Fish In A Barrel you will go through a building to get down to what you think may be Alpha Squad. There will be a video. At the end of the video when Carmine drops the thing in the emergence hole you will start to play again. On the part were the Locuts is on the mounted machine gun there will be a wall on the right of him. Go there and there will be a Locust standing there. Chainsaw him. Then follow the wall and there will be a little walk way a ways down. go through it. Then you will be right behind the Locust on the mounted machine gun kill him and get on the gun. And then Locust coming. Get on the gun and kill them. That is how you flank them.

Gridlock Multiplayer Tips

If you are playing a 4 on 4 game in Gridlock, you need to take out your shotgun, and rush the sniper position with 2 of your teammates. Make your other teammate rushes the rocket launcher. If you take the sniper successfully, then snipe for enemies while the 2 other teammates look for them as well. Bring your teammate with the rocket launcher to where you are. Make him look out for enemies. This way, if the rocket launcher guy sees you shooting at someone with the sniper rifle, he will try and blow them up. Don't forget about your other 2 men hunting for the enemies. Make sure to cover them if they need it.

For some strange reason, the COG always seem to rush the sniper position before the Locust, so if you are with the COG, don't be afraid to go with the pack. Your teammates will probably be rushing. As for the Locust, my best advice would be rushing the rocket launchers position, then blowing up the COG while they horde over the sniper. Then again, if they are smart, the COG will send 1 man to rush the rocket launcher position so don't be hit by surprise. Rig up your chainsaw in that case. 3 or 4 vs 1.

The Hammer

When you first start the map the Rooftops while on Xbox Live. Run down the path way and take a left, then you should see a shack on the left go in, inside should be the hammer of dawn. Now climb up the rooftops like you usually would and aim it in the far back near your opponents, you should at least get 2 kills. *You need to do this fast or else your enemies would have already started to advance*

Raam

If you are having trouble killing Raam in Insane difficulty, try this: When he is coming towards you from the other side, throw grenades at him to make the Kryll go away and shoot him around the head area with your Lancer. Keep going until he is too close. Make sure you stay behing the cover you stared in. When he is on the other side of the cement rectangle thing where you are at taking cover, wait until he sends the Kryll after you. Take out your shotgun and keep on blind-firing him around his chest. He will try and go around the cement, but just jump over it or go around. There is no need to leave the cement rectangle. Repeat the process and you will kill Raam in a little bit of time.

COG Tags

The easiest way to find COG Tags is to look out for the Gears of War symbol (The Red Skull inside a Gear)... If you see this symbol on a wall, car, or on the ground then there is a Tag nearby.

How to Defeat Every Boss

SEEDERS: You should have the Hammer of Dawn, so just hit him with that. It should take about two hits, but watch out for the flying locusts they shoot out.

BERSERKER: Once she appears (by running through a wall) immediately jet right into the next room, then go to the end of that room and there will be a closed door. You're going to have to angle it so she will charge and hit the door, so once you think you're ready, pop a pistol shot into her and she will start running at you. If you move away too soon, she will turn to try to follow you, so you have to wait till she is about 6 feet away then do a dodge roll (Left stick left or right + A button) Continue to do that until you are outside, then get her to run towards you and do the dodge roll again, then take out the hammer and hit her with that… Rinse and repeat until she is dead.

CORPSER: I used the 6-shot burst rifle and the shotgun, so all you have to do is wait until he lifts up some of his legs (he will do it on either the left side or the right side) then go over to the lifted side and shoot him in his under belly (took 3-4 shots with the 6 burst gun) then he will like scream and raise his head up. You have to shoot him in the chin/neck and he will back up, follow him and keep doing what I said - after about two times of getting him to back up, wretches will come out, this is where I used the shotgun ( since the melee with the shotgun is a one hit kill to wretches). So do that, then go back to the corpser and shoot it in chest and then neck, so when he is at the very end of the giant hallway, he should be in a huge platform being held to the part that you're on by clamps. Get his smash attack and have one of his leg s hit the clamp. Once both clamps are destroyed the cut scene will come, and the Corpser is dead.

2nd BERSERKER (in the green house): All you have to do with his one is get her to hit apart of the wall – it will break and sunlight will come through. Get her to that spot (or around it) in order to use the hammer of dawn.

3rd BERSERKER (on the train): Get to the end of the train, there is a way to get the back part to open, - it’s either with a button or you have to get the berserker to run into the back, I don't remember which, but once you get the back off, just have her run into it and she will fall off.

RAAM: 2 ways to do this.

SINGLE PLAYER: Get the sniper rifle and when the Kryll come off him head shot him, when he starts to get close run out and tag him with a grenade then got to the other side of the train and do again, you can use the machine gun if you run out of ammo, also at the opposite of your entering point there is an ammo crate. Do this till he’s dead.

Gears of War Glitches

Kung Fu FLip

Entry Location:
Fuel Depot

Go to the spawn opposite of the junker garage. Get on the right side of the rail when facing it from the spawn. Go to about the middle of the rail and pull your right analog stick all the way down so the camera angle is completely above you. Push right on the left stick so the jump over sign comes up, but dont jump over. Quickly pull back on the left stick and press A at the same time. If done correctly you will slightly levitate. At this point press A+B and pull back on the left stick and you will flip backwards onto the gate. OH BY THE WAY, you need to have either your pistol out or your grenades to do this. And it doesnt work for the host.

Under Mausoleum

Online in Mausoleum

In Mausoleum go to where the Boomshot is. Once you pick up the Boomshot hid on the wall right next to it. Press up and you should see the icon that show you climbing on top of the ledge. Don't press A yet to climb up. Look up far enough so you wont hit the ledge your hiding on. Shoot the Boomshot and right when the active reload meter reaches the active spot press A to climb up. Don't jam or active reload let it reload regularly. when you climb up you should fall through the ground under the Mausoleum. You might not fall under, but you will look like, to yourself, that your run glitching, but your not. Ask someone if they can see you and if they cant your invisible. Go to any legde and you should start floating off of it.

Unlimted Smoke

Take out your pistol and fire until it does an auto reload. During the auto reload quickly switch to your smoke grenades, then press RT, RB twice and then press B. Then you can go tag people with smoke whenever you want.

Chainsaw Yourself (Host Only)

Select the lancer (The Machinegun/Chainsaw) then quickly press B, then X, and your character should chainsaw himself. You wont die when you do this glitch

Rodeo Run

Entry Location:
Gridlock

First Go To Gridlock. Then right when the match starts go to the bay side. Look at the edge of the first pillar with the chainsaw gun. Press A then B really really fast. If done correctly you should be floating on the pillar. When you get on tilt your Left Analog stick toward the bay. then it should come up with the character ducking. Click A. Then sit tight for a while and get off by moving the analog stick. Don't press A to get off. It may take a while to get use to it. But it is effective.

Run and Shoot

Gridlock works best

This usually works by any stairs, but Gridlock works the best. When spawned go to the blocks by the ocean. Stand in front of one of the blocks and on the stairs. Look at the edge of the block by the ocean. Press A + B real quick and you should jump on the wall floating. If it doesn't work at first keep trying. Then look to jump out away from the wall toward the ocean. Press A to jump away, but you shouldn't jump. Instead you will crouch down. If it doesn't work try again. After crouching down look at the stairs and shoot. If you don't shoot immediately keep trying and try to wiggle yourself out of the wall. once you get away from the wall you will appear, to yourself, like your walking and lagging really bad, but you look like your running to everyone else. You should be able to switch your guns and shoot.

The flying glitch ( may take a while )

OK.... first you have to get the lancer out and when you first begin the game if your locust your on the right side to be on go up to the hammerburst but don't get it and then click b,x together at the same time on the stairs facing down wards then you will be on the stairs hovering then walk to the middle pole in the wide open and shot like 10 lancer bullets quick to the ground in different areas then double click the button that lets you reload ( you want to jam your lancer ) then in the middle of your lancer being jammed jump down and if you start shaking then go down go on the white truck up and down about 3-5 times and stand on the edge of the truck and you will start flying ( the only weapons that work up there are the sniper,boomshot,hammer of dawn, and torque bow )

(when you are in the glitch you become invisible)

Under Fuel Depot

To get under Fuel Depot first you need to go to where the Hammer of Dawn spawns. In that place there will be these racks with bottles and other things on them. Shoot 1 off and put it against the wall where you can crouch and jump over. Get against the wall, but also against the object. When you're still crouched turn and face the Hammer. Then hold back so it gives you the option to jump the wall. If you do this right you should fall through. Now when you fall you may keep falling and falling; or you will get into this spot under the map in this big square. Or when you fall if you walk forward you will get under you will be able to get back up and mess around with people. Note: If the game is real laggy it may not work or it will be real hard.

Chainsaw jump

Take out your lancer and approach a ledge. Do not hide behind it. Run toward the ledge and tap A + B twice. you should jump over the ledge and go very far. I personally like this because in multiplayer, people hiding behind ledges wont expect you to do that and you can easily kill them.

Get out of Tyro Station

At the top of the map, where the torque bow is, there will be a little "curve" in the wall behind the bow. Take cover inside of this curve, and run back and forth throughout the whole curve, rapidly hitting A. After two or three runs doing this, the game will put you on top of the wall. If It won't let you move, simply pistol whip or rev your chainsaw. After this, walk on the wall in THE SAME direction the train is going. Continue to walk, but do NOT get too close to the train. The second or third pillar on your right will be half over the map, and half over the blackness. Walk to the side over the blackness, and walk into the corner where the invisible wall meets the pillar. Dive by hitting the A button, and try to land on the protruding edge of the map. If you make it, you can explore the whole back of the map.
