BioShock 2 is as inevitable as our lunchtime Quake III session following the resounding success of the first game. And 2K could be opting for a prequel with the second outing.
Well that's the current talk anyway, with rumour suggesting that 2K sources have revealed that BioShock 2 will be set prior to BioShock, and that the new adventure is currently in pre-production.
Should BioShock 2 turn out to be a prequel, we'd imagine that we'd be at least partly dropped into the events surrounding the fall of Rapture, which act as background to the first game.
Although 2K hasn't said outright that BioShock 2 is in development, last year parent company Take-Two spoke of how "an every-two-year schedule would be optimal" for the release of new games in the franchise.
That would peg BioShock 2's release for 2009.
