The Xbox 360 version of BioShock has topped the latest Swedish multiformat sale chart, which is otherwise dominated by PC games. The next five games on the chart are all PC titles - including the PC version of BioShock, listed at number 6. Interestingly, not a single Wii game is in the top 20 spots on the multiformat chart.

Irrational Games has released a little update on Xbox Live for its watery masterpiece BioShock.

It should fix lots of the stability problems some of you are having with the game, particularly when loading autosaves. The audio in the title menu has also been sorted out, and computer-controlled characters should now behave around health stations.

Sales across the board were quite interesting this week. Compared to last week, hardware sales were up significantly, and the three current generation consoles (Wii/PS3/360) saw pretty big shakeups in their top ten software for the week:

-Metroid Prime 3 had a much better launch week than Metroid Prime 2 did - 314k vs. 139k. This is even more impressive considering GC had 2x as many users in November 2004 as Wii has now, and that Prime 2 launched in November, while Prime 3 launched in August. If Galaxy and Brawl show the same type of generation to generation growth (2.25x better sales), then Nintendo is going to make alot of money.

- PS3 is approaching respectable Americas (US,Canada and a bit extra) sales. If it can do 55,000-60,000 a week for a while in the Americas, the business ecosystem of PS3 will improve quite a bit - at least in the West.

Those sneaky file searchers over at the 2K Games forums have uncovered a few text strings embedded in the PC version of BioShock's game code which hint at a new set of plasmids coming our way. After looking through the game's install files for a reference to a PC game editor, forum member Zemlor stumbled across a reference to a piece of content called "PlasmidPack1".

With the recent rumblings of 2k Game including secuRom with the BioShock game disk a question was thrown to the officials over at official BioShock forums. You will not believe their response.

Jakester, a poster over at the official 2k Games forums, who was having problems installing the retail version of the game on his laptop kindly asked a question which went like this :
"I installed Bioshock on my laptop under one admin user, Everything works fine, but I then tried to switch users on my computer and whenever I launch Bioshock it is asking me to enter my serial again for the game¿. Is this gonna charge me two of my activations ?"

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption bests former overall sales leader BioShock in its first week of release, becoming the week's single best-selling software title across all platforms in the United States. With few major Wii releases on the horizon, Corruption's place atop the chart is likely to remain uncontested over the next several weeks as well. Positive buzz from upcoming titles like My Sims and Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party could bring a reshuffling of chart positions in the near future, however.

With a 400k debut, Bioshock has a pretty legitimate shot at 1,000,000 units long term. For a sense of scale though - even in week two Madden (across all platforms) - outsold the game.

With the Americas data now in, it is time for the weekly look at Vgchartz sales data. For the week ending August 25, Xbox 360 saw the release of a key release - Bioshock. Additionally, numbers for Madden NFL 2008 in week two across all platforms were quite similar to the debut of Bioshock. That said, it is important to note that Xbox 360 hardware did not see a boost.
